Britain’s Energy Coast – Business Cluster was founded in
2003 as the “West Cumbria Business Cluster” It is a private
sector led group of companies whose members include world class, innovative
companies, as well as small, local organisations.
The commitment to the members is for the Cluster to be the voice of
energy business in West Cumbria, to lead the development of business
in Britain’s Energy Coast and to play a pivotal role in the supply
chain transformation of the West Cumbrian economy and infrastructure.

MAS is part of the Solutions for Business suite of government funded
support. WCDA and MAS are working in partnership to provide free specialist
lean manufacturing expertise and business development advice to SMEs
within Cumbria to enable them to maximise their potential – opportunities
that represent almost every manufacturing discipline.
Eligibility – companies must be an SME: i.e. 250 employees and
/or up to €50m turnover. No more than 25% of the company should
be owned by a group with more than 250 employees and / or €50m.
